About this Book: |
Attacked by gypsies, being stranded alone at the Ljubljana train station at midnight, catching a fever in Croatia, and stumbling up on a church decorated completely in human bones are just a few of the situations that Rebecca Patrick found herself in while backpacking Eastern Europe alone in the winter of 2003. Despite the fact that she went to Europe solely under the impression that she would have peace and quiet to sort herself out and contemplate her next move in life, she found herself in a curtain of drama in practically every new direction she took. From hostel wars to prickly backpackers and shady train conductors, it wasn’t always pleasant, but it was always entertaining.

Book Review: |
Amazon.com- I bought this book on a recomendation from a friend, as I am very interested in travel. I expected a normal travelogue, but got so much more. Rebecca's story is so engaging and touching as her journey thru Europe expands so does her journey to self discovery. I felt as if I were there with her and could not wait to see what would happen next. They say truth is stranger than fiction, but in this case the truth was much more entertaining than many fictional books I've read recently. I highly recomend this book to anyone who loves travel or romance!
