About this Book: |
|
Still Have Faith is a compelling story about a husband’s thoughts, feelings, and struggles in dealing with his wife’s 17½ year battle with breast cancer, and the 4 years since her death.
Over this time period, Mike had to face the deaths of other family members, raising his two children, his relationship with God, and rebuilding his life.
First-time author Michael D. Stalter's writing style is down-to-Earth, just as if it were being told to the reader by a friend. It is one of the only books available written from the perspective of a male caregiver.

Book Review: |
|
Michael “Mike” Stalter's Still Have Faith shares his very personal journey surrounding his wife's breast cancer, both the resulting life upheaval for him and their two children during her illness, and the work involved in moving on after her death.
The underlying message of Still Have Faith is one for men who are married to a woman with a major, potentially terminal illness: Keep your commitment to your wife and to God: “until death do us part”...even though the Beast inside you may want to rage.
Reading Still Have Faith will benefit any husband whose wife has breast cancer, helping him know that his thoughts, feelings, and daily struggles are not unique. It will also help women with breast cancer to glimpse her husband's perspective, potentially opening discussion for difficult subjects related to how the illness and terminal diagnosis affects the relationship and the home. Friends of couples affected by cancer will also appreciate the insight Michael Stalter has shared in his book.
