Still Have Faith is a compelling story about a husband’s thoughts, feelings, and struggles in dealing with his wife’s 17½ year battle with breast cancer, and the 4 years since her death. Over this time period, Mike had to face the deaths of other family members, raising his two children, his relationship with God, and rebuilding his life. First-time author Michael D. Stalter's writing style is down-to-Earth, just as if it were being told to the reader by a friend. It is one of the only books available written from the perspective of a male caregiver.

About the Author:

Michael D. Stalter was born and raised in Pontiac, Illinois and graduated from Illinois State University. He worked for his father through college where he learned to operate heavy equipment working on farm drainage projects. He met his future wife Mary in 1983, they were married in 1985. Mike returned to Illinois State to earn his teaching certificate and taught inmates at the maximum security prison. He then promoted to Business Manager where he stayed until he took advantage of an early retirement buyout in 2004. He left his position as the Chief Fiscal Officer of the Pontiac Correctional Center to be primary caregiver to his wife Mary when she was terminally ill with breast cancer.
