About this Book: |
|
The people of the Southwestern Pennsylvania coal region came from many cultures and traditions. They came together in small self-contained coal towns or "partches"-often not understanding each other's language, ways, traditions or religions. But daily life found them depending on each other and being tied together in a community experience centered around coal, which dominated their lives. Daisies, Dignity and Daily Life is about Daisytown, Pennsylvania and the experiences of the people that lived there.
