About this Book: |
Laura Parsons Lytle shares her story of finding redemption. Though her childhood was full of rejection and heartbreak, her words show the outline of God's hand, as a constant, throughout her life. As Laura writes about her deepest emotions, through the shame of abuse, losing her father to dementia, and the devastation of her own addictions, she uncovers a side of God that is too often unseen in churches today. The illustrations and breath taking poetry display a tender heart that was too long imprisoned behind a wall off stone. Open "To Tame a Wildflower", and be enlightened, be encouraged, be set free!

About the Author: |
Laura Parsons Lytle's childhood was nothing like it seemed. She attended church every Sunday, but what was happening behind closed doors at home was far from holy. Enduring abuse, abandonment, and rejection which she determined must be from God himself, she struggled to make sense of her entire existence. Already overcome with self hatred and pain, in 1994 she started to slowly lose the only person who ever made her feel loved. She tried any means possible to evade the darkness that was overtaking her, but the world forgot her. Struggling with self mutilation, addictions, depression, and no one believing in her, eventually she gave up on herself. But above the shadows there was something unseen constantly intertwined with her path, and years later she would realize that salvation waited for her exactly where she had fallen. True hers is a story of pain, bondage, and loss. But more importantly, it is a story of redemption.

Book Review: |
I just read Laura Parsons Lytle's book "To Tame A Wildflower" I would suggest that anyone who has been abused sexually, physically, mentally or abandoned to read it. To Tame a Wildflower is the autobiography of Laura Parson's Lytle, and how she overcame childhood sexual abuse, drug, alcohol and pornography addictions. The book is honest, bold, terrifying, hopeful, and refreshing! A must read for anyone who has had a hopeless moment in their lives! M.R.-Ohio
