The author served for 17 years as a Catholic priest, and then as a Peace Corps Area Director, a hospital vice president, and as a director of various social programs for migrant workers, substance abusers and the mentally ill. Married for 37 years, he and his wife, Mary Lou, have 3 adult children and six grandchildren.
