Book Review:

This is an exciting book, capitalizing on the author's Hungarian background and interest in History and Romance. In 1848, Lajos Kossuth convinces the Hungarian Parliament to defend her borders from the encroachment of Austrians under the Emperor Franz Josef. However, Kossuth fails, and on 9 Aug 1849, the Austro-Russian forces execute Kossuth's Generals and their wives, a day of mourning in Hungary to this day. Meanwhile, Kossuth's friend Count Istvan Lokaitos escapes Hungary with his family and finds a new life in America in New York City..
