This sermon is a review of Jeremiah’s call and an introduction to my response to that same prophetic indictment to “up root and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah’s voice was silent because he was only a child. My voice was silent because I was “just a woman.”
Has your voice been silenced by tradition or stifled for some other reason? If so, then take heed to the advice God gave Jeremiah, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.” I was commanded to “preach the Word.” What are you called to do? Whatever it is that you are called by God to do, get busy doing it. You do not know the day nor the hour when Christ will return. You do not want him to come and find you with your work undone!
Lay aside every weight and excuse that the enemy has put before you. “God ain’t trying to hear it.” What God is trying to hear, however, is your confession of surrender. Surrender everything that would hinder you on this journey to the Lord.
