Given her interest in service-learning and student success, Dr. Dasaratha Rama became interested in The PhD Project, an award-winning program to create diversity in business school faculty. After studying The PhD Project for several years, Dr. Rama believes that its’ pioneering model can be productively applied for the design of mentoring and peer-learning networks in diverse settings. Rama notes that the lessons from The PhD Project can be systematically harnessed in a variety of contexts to solve a variety of business, educational, and societal problems that cannot be solved easily by individuals in isolation.
Bernard J. Milano, President of The PhD Project and the KPMG Foundation (founder and lead sponsor of the program), says: “The PhD Project is proud and pleased to serve as a model for others through the brilliant interpretation and explanation by Dr. Rama. We hope that she will be able to help pay forward The PhD Project’s message to other organizations and help them use the Growing Systems of Success approach discussed in the book.”
