About this Book: |
|
Dee was really sick, so sick that he lost twenty-six pounds in three weeks. He could not keep food or water down. His stomach hurt so badly that it seemed the only comfort he could have was to sleep sitting up. Most nights, as he endured the agony of pain. Kara would rub his back, both sitting on the bathroom floor as he was struggling for relief. They were constantly going to the doctor to no avail, and Kara was so sad because there wasn’t anything, she could do to help him. By now Kara was almost eight months pregnant, waddling from doctor’s appointment to doctor’s appointment trying to find answers to this sudden onset of critical illness. On what seemed like the tenth doctor’s visit, Kara asked the doctor what would constitute a true emergency. They had also been back and forth to the emergency room. Their frustration level was high. The doctor advised them that if Dee could not keep down water, he needed to go to the ER again.

In Virginia it was a bright sunny spring day, wrapped in the warm and brilliant rays of the sun.
Dee’s mother Cherri was on vacation visiting her daughter Pam. She called to talk to her youngest son Dee, in Seattle Washington, as she had just left exotic Las Vegas visiting her oldest son Mac.
Suddenly, the bright and radiant sunny day of spring suddenly became an emotional cold, gloomy winter day filled with darkness; overpowered with crushing pain to her heart. Her son told her something he had been keeping from her for a few weeks. It pierced her heart like a sharp sword, but she couldn’t allow him to know how much pain she was in. He needed her to be strong for him, so she disguised her pain.
