About this Book:

We speak of ?biblical times? as if it is a bygone era, something that occurred in times past. But the truth of the matter is that we are living in ?biblical times? right now and there is no more timely need than the present for us to learn and integrate into our ministry as chaplains and health care providers Biblical Practices of Healing. Despite the practices of healing described in the Bible though, in chaplaincy there is often an emphasis on clinical and extra-biblical resources in providing spiritual care to the sick to the exclusion of biblical practices.

About the Author:

James Luoma is a Registered Nurse and an ordained Minister of the Gospel through Calvary Ministries, Inc. International, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Ministry at Ashland Theological Seminary (Ohio).He graduated from Wright State University’s School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. He earned a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Leadership and Pastoral Counseling from Cincinnati Christian University’s Bible Seminary. He is employed as a Clinical Staff Chaplain with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.

We give thanks to God that there is now a resource of equal credibility to assist chaplains in their ministry to veterans. Rev James Luoma has provided a resource that is practical and powerful in the ministry of bringing healing while answering the question "Lord teach us...". He has provided a resource; a model that will strengthen and encourage chaplains and any of Jesus' disciples today to become more effective instruments in God's hand.?
