Leandra's dying grandmother, Su'lee, gives her a journal that had once belonged to her great, great, great granddmother, Chandra. Su'lee's request was that Leandra protect and guard the secret journal. Leandra, however, after having read through the journal realizes that the famed Ny'karin Slayer was actually a Ny'karin sympathizer. The story begins two hundred and fifty years before the birth of Leandra. It tells of Chandra's life; how Chandra stood by Sor'an's side when he invaded and occupied Earth in the year 2012, how Sor'an made her into one of his experimental cyborg enforcers, how she betrayed Sor'an after the war, how she was sold to an owner of a brothel and then to a bounty hunter, how she escaped and how she begins to piece together all the pieces of the puzzle that are her life, including finding her children. Many obstacles confront her throughout her journey. Chandra is forced to make tough decisions. In the end, Sor'an's true intentions are revealed. He discovers that Chandra is a spy for the Planetary Alliance.

The author grew up in Orange County, California. She resides in the Sun City/Menifee Valley area in California. She worked as a postal worker from 1986-1996. The author always wanted to write a book and the idea for Chandra's Quest had been in her head since 1989. Originally the title was 'Lyssa's Quest'. A year after she quit her job, (1997) she starting writing Chandra's Quest. Several TV series, (from 1997-2001) inspired her. They were: Farscape, Lexx & Earth Final Conflict. The author has always wanted to write and share her stories with people including her family. Cecile did not graduate from college, she’s not a teacher or a scholar, but she always had a passion for writing. Despite of unfair criticism she still accomplished what she set out to do. It took her five years to write Chandra's Quest, 1997-2001. She is currently working on her semi-autobiography/memoir book. She has written two fiction books: Chandra's Quest and In the Company of Elves.
