About this Book: |
Are you a tither? Do you know the history of it? Do you know that it had nothing to do with money? Are you a giver? Do you do it cheerfully or grudgingly? Believe it or not, many of today’s Christians give (or pay as they call it) their ten percent and have no idea why they do it, or even if they’re doing it right. Some do it out of tradition or with the wrong motive, which causes a haughty or self-righteous attitude. For those who don’t give or pay their ten percent, they’re made to feel as if they’re cursed and somehow don’t measure up. Sadly, many of today’s pastors are unintentionally teaching sermons on tithing that are hurting and dividing the body of Christ, rather than edifying it. Are there other things more important than tithing? Absolutely. Jesus called these the weightier matters (Matthew 23:23). Author C.L. Threatt, takes this delicate subject and explains it in a non-threatening way where all of God’s people, Christians and non-Christians alike can receive it. After reading this book, your thoughts on tithing and giving will never be the same.

About the Author: |
C.L. Threatt is a devoted husband and father. He lives in the tiny town of Argo, Alabama (just northeast of Birmingham), with his wife Sharmon and two of their four children. He has been employed with Southern Natural Gas Company/El Paso Energy for the past seventeen years. Although he’s written several children’s books as well as a book of poetry, this is his first project specifically targeted towards adults. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, watching television, reading, spending time with his family, and of course writing. He also spends time visiting schools talking to children of all ages about the importance of reading and pursuing their dreams. He says what he enjoys most about his writing career is that now he gets the opportunity to help others pursue their dream of becoming a published author, or anything else God has called them to be. One of his future goals is to become a philanthropist and form the AHAVA Foundation.
