MAINTENANCE & TRAINING TOOL
This compact [8½ x 5½] book is proving to be a useful reference and training tool for those involved in main-taining, testing, inspection, installation and trouble shooting of steam traps [tanks, headers, control valves, pipe and tank insulation, drip pockets].
It is based on author Bill Holub’s 30 years surveying, sizing and supervising high- and low-pressure trap installations for Suncor, TransAlta, Shell, ExxonMobil, Firestone, Georgia Pacific, Cytec, JBS, Pilgrim’s Pride, Tyson, ADM, ConAgra, Bunge, Purac, Armour-Eckrich, Cargill, Motorola, Pellerin-Milnor and other leading U.S. and Canadian companies.
He has consistently solved such trap related problems as inconsistent heat, high back pressure, waterlogged lines, water hammer and air locking.
Bill also has solid experience in process control and instrumentation as a Manager for both Magnecraft Struthers-Dunn, makers of electromechanical relays for power generation and motor controls, and L&J Engineering, Shand & Jurs, producers of storage tank level gauging equipment for petrochemical companies.

About the Author: |
|
BILL HOLUB has over 30 years
technical and troubleshooting
experience in the production and
utilization of steam. This includes
surveying, sizing, troubleshooting
and overseeing trap installations in
the food, refining, paper,
chemical, lumber, institutional and
other fields.
He has evaluated high- and low-
pressure systems throughout the
US and Canada. His recent project includes being selected
as one of seven vendors to travel with the JBS/Pilgrim’s
Pride engineering/procurement group on a “Drive Cost
Savings” campaign. Each plant is evaluated, ideas shared
and projects planned to reduce energy, reduce water
usage and improve process flow. Other projects included
directing the installation and compiling energy savings for
refineries in the tar/oil sand areas of Northern Alberta, Canada.
