About the Author: |
|
Anthony DeLosa has held management positions from Supervisor to General Manager to Entrepreneur. The foundation of his management philosophy comes from his time while serving in the U.S. Army. “My military experience taught me there is a place for being an autocrat, a time to take charge and give orders. Knowledge learned became wisdom when applied.” Tony says, “My experiences had shown that becoming a leader was more than taking charge its accepting personal responsibility for your own performance as it relates to the accomplishments of those assigned.” He goes on to say, “I also learned that the success of a mission relied on my team working as one.” Tony carried this work attitude throughout his business career, retiring after 42 year in 2009.

All of what is presented in the Benevolent Autocrat is of little value if you do nothing or if nothing comes from it. Concepts outlined can help you deal with issues managers face, but only if you are prepared.
Simply stated; Managers plan so they don’t shoot from the hip, organize to avoid chaos, staff to ensure sufficient human resources, direct to teach and guide, and control to make certain that goals are accomplished.
Throughout the book you will find challenges managers can expect to face. There will be an explanation how to meet head-on what is challenged. Satisfying customers; Providing a workplace that is safe, secure and free of discrimination and harassment; Accomplishing objectives with and through the help of others; Recruiting the human resources required to meet objectives; To Protect the company from lawsuits; and, Adhering to company policy and procedures; are a few of the challenges covered.
This book is a good place to start to develop skills to be successful.
