About this Book: |
|
The author has chosen to look at God’s Word through the lens of His creation. The Lord often brought the scenery of His creation and His living Word together for the author in a profound way. This conjunction was a rich blessing and it has been during these times that the author could see and hear God the clearest and understand His Word the best. The author tells a second story with the order of the verses. That second story tells how we know God exists but acknowledges we do not yet see clearly. It then speaks of God’s power and richness and love for us. It ends with passages that speak of the end of this age and the age to come. No additional commentary or inspirational thought is provided with each verse beyond the photograph. Obviously the ultimate application of the Living Word is within our hearts. “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.” Eph 3:19.

The author has an avid appreciation for, and a profound awe of, both God’s creation and His living Word. The Lord has used His creation to speak to the author while the author was exploring that creation. The author has worked part time during the past ten years in his professional field of technology semiconductor reliability which has given him ample time to explore the back country of Vermont by kayak and snowshoe as well as time to explore some of the world beyond Vermont. The author is primarily a self-taught photographer though he has read many photography books and has taken short photography workshops. In recent years his camera of choice has been a Canon EOS 7D with a 100-400 zoom lens for the wildlife shots.

As the painters of old highlighted some of the Biblical passages as drawn pictures, the author has highlighted some of the Biblical passages through photographs of His creation. There are actually two stories being told. The first story is that single page-by-page depiction of God’s living creation with His living Word. The second story is told by the verse order. The story starts with the affirmation that God, in His creation, has shown us all we need see to know that He is the Creator. There is then an acknowledgement that we must live by faith, because even though we know He is our Creator, we now see through a glass darkly and we now know only in part. The author next moves to God’s beauty and perfection described by His Word and His creation. The story continues with a focus on His love and power and how much greater and higher He is than we are. It concludes with the end of this era by a depiction of the crystal sea and of men rushing to and fro where knowledge, but not wisdom, is greatly increased. The author has added no comments to the Bible verses which were used but has chosen rather to allow the photograph to make a powerful commentary by itself.
