About this Book: |
|
Long before the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock Italian subjects of the King of Spain had arrived in boats, not to Ellis Island in New York, but to Brazos Santiago Island on the coast of Texas... and their descendants have lived there ever since.
In this exhaustively well researched book, Alex Loya presents a mountain of historical and trace evidence that would cause any jury to decide that, indeed, families of Italian origin settled in Texas as early as early as 1535, and Spaniards as early as 1520.
