About this Book: |
This is a memoir. It is primarily written to pass on many details of my life and lessons learned to my children, grandchildren, and other family. It is divided into four sections. The first relates my life chronologically. The second section gives further details on some major aspects of my life (such as sports activity, political activity, medical mission trips). The third section is entitled messages to take away, and gives my personal philosophy and some advice I recommend. The fourth section is a collection of lists such as favorites (movies, food, songs, etc.) and best moments of my life. There is some modest humor and a bibliography in the back matter. The book includes details I felt my family would want to know, and stories/anecdotes that could be interesting to others and which are sometimes humorous. There are also several themes running through the book. These include, but are not limited to, how times have changed, food through my life, incidents which helped form my personality, celebrity encounters, and experiences which helped develop my abilities as a physician.

About the Author: |
I am a now retired physician. I was trained in Internal medicine and Geriatrics, and had an inpatient practice in both of those areas, and an outpatient practice in Primary Care and Geriatrics. My entire career was spent at academic medical centers and I had several leadership positions, many medical (and baseball related) publications, and I was a Professor of medicine. I went on many medical mission trips, and had a good career. I also had, and still have, a nice family life which is detailed, and interests outside of medicine which are documented.
